Yasemin tutored English and ran drama groups before she started her Psychology degree at UEA in 2014. She became chronically ill during her degree and didn’t finish. Then after some time working on her health she decided to start a midwifery degree, but before she could start she fell pregnant and was diagnosed with cancer and Hyperemesis Gravidarum. So instead she did a Cert HE in Health Sciences through the OU while she was pregnant, and then started her midwifery degree when her son was 9 months old.
She is now working as a Birthkeeper and Doula during her ongoing midwifery studies. She is really passionate about making birth safer and healthier for women and their children, but never imagined that this would be her job! Running her own business isn't without it's challenges, but it has enabled her to fulfil her true calling.
